24p True Cinema

customer reviews

Lots of light and little shade 4
The second TV was showing its age, replacement was needed. After a misstep of an affordable unit that is a Sony Bravia, our main device is also a Sony Bravia (40 "), which was relatively expensive, but also in very good quality in every respect.

So now the 26" Sony Bravia. Unpacked, hardware groped (very good workmanship!), Foot installed (unfortunately not the foot tilt, which should actually be in the price range of it) and connected the device to the DVB-T antenna is all Quick & Easy done.

switch: the device responds with the Sony logo and a soft Ploing made noble. Then, the channel search for in my case, DVB-T (the tuner is so integrated) pay the whole thing will be requested as early as the end of the basic settings for the first time, everything perfectly, found all channels, including a reordering is quite easily from.

All other functions and sockets for auxiliary devices, etc. are easily accessible and the device will also be recognized itself down when activated. The remote is typical sony very clear, well made and easy to operate, with just the once popular at the Braun design ajar clear design understandable Separation of function blocks, program access and additional features.

The image is razor sharp, the color values and color values for scenes easily adjustable, that is, of course, personal taste. I prefer warm colors and good sharpness, everything easily and clearly set. The picture quality is very good, even with fast action and dark image areas, I noticed no negative characteristics.

The connections are generally rich, I have connected a DVD player via HDMI and an Iomega media box to play home-recorded programs (using a PC with TV card, mpeg2 format), via HDMI, also without problems.

two drawbacks have noticed me

1) The thin manual shows only rudimentary building and terminal will further questions refer to the online help in the device and that is right sized sparse, it is informed not really good. For the technically less affinity may be a problem. After all, you can download at Sony nor instructions as PDF-File, but that what is at least on this CD, better than real manual.

2) The USB-in music and pictures are back, even movies (in my mpeg2 from TV card), but unfortunately only a small peephole that even with the zoom function only in the level, not wind-up in width. Completely understand that you have not designed the full screen, so I play my mpeg2's further from the Iomega Media box. Perhaps I have overlooked a setting, but also violent and google search yielded no solution to this problem size, very bad. (Note the larger Bravia 40 "can even play no mpeg2's, that is after all an increase, but not thought through). If someone know the problem solution, I am grateful for a reference.

The bottom line is a unit of top quality class with excellent image and good service, I would buy it again.

usable device 4
Pro:
- successful design
- good picture with very good configuration options in relation to natural colors, perfect black
- Sleep timer permanently as a core value stored, so that is TV after power-off in principle by
1 or 2 hours (Schlafzimmer.. )

Contra
- cheap-looking remote control
- confusing user interface, meager manual describes only the installation / mounting of the foot
- No power supply for active DVB-T TV!
- The USB port is no 5 volts for small external USB hard drive to

Conclusion: No Metz, but price / performance is good :-)

Top Equipment for the price 4
I bought me about 4 weeks in the Sony Bravia and it has not yet looked back.

I wanted a decent TV for the bedroom have to

1) DVB-C tuner
2) possibilities for wall mounting
3) Opportunities AVI files via USB stick to play

Since this LCD from me required properties has, and also still less than 400, - cost €, I have for this determination.

previously ordered a Toshiba LCD I have sent back because he is the image quality was significantly worse.

Positive characteristics have noticed me

- Top Image Quality - 100Hz are not at this image size necessary
- Well designed TV menu
- speakers ok for the size
- Lots of picture presets
- Easy to use from the menu

Negative characteristics for me

- Long switching times in the DVB-C mode ( Alphacript with light and KD Card)
- remote I do not say so to
- will freeze at the wrong file format via USB flash drive (XVid will not play)

is all in all my 4 star rating value, since in this Price range is nothing like it and the TV picture that is the focus for me, for my situation is very good. An operation by the PC does not a RGB or HDMI to problems. There was no star deduction is limited to the above-mentioned negative points.

If an LCD to 26 "seek, on this model from Sony in that price range to 400, - € by not offers everything you need so the image quality I used a Philips 8404 for comparison, of another. slightly better picture and beautiful colors added. Otherwise a very good TV device.
